Bulls coach Human heading east

Pote Human has resigned as the forward coach of the Vodacom Bulls and has accepted a lucrative offer from the Japanese club Ricoh, where he will work with former Waratahs assistant Todd Louden.

Human has been of supreme value to the Bulls since he joined the franchise in August 2005 and during the last three seasons he was instrumental in building up one of the most feared pack of forwards in the world of rugby.

He was involved with the Blue Bulls' successful Currie Cup campaigns in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and since the beginning of 2006 he was responsible for the forwards in the Super 14, helping them to the 2007 Super 14 title.

Human said it was an unbelievable honour and privilege to coach at the Blue Bulls and he has made many great friends at Loftus.

"There have been quite a number of highlights in the last couple of seasons, and winning the Super 14 was probably the biggest of them all, while working with the players was always an absolute joy," he said.

"The players immediately accepted me with open hearts and they were always keen to learn more about the game."

The CEO of the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd, Barend van Graan, thanked "coach Pote" for the enormous role he has played in building up the Bulls brand.

"Pote is one of the most respected forward coaches in the world and it always has been a delight to work with him on and off the field. He was an example to us all and always very loyal to the Bulls," he said.

"Our best wishes accompany him on the road ahead."
