Regan King: Staying at Scarlets

Scarlets chief Executive Stuart Gallacher has sought to set fans' minds at rest following rumours of player departures from West Wales over the close season.

Gallacher confirmed on Wednesday that, as had been already agreed, number eight Alix Popham, centre Matthew Watkins, and scrum-half Dwayne Peel were all leaving the region, and that four additional players - Bruce Douglas, Ben Broster, James Hayter, and Adam Eustace - would also be leaving.

But other rumours were quashed by Gallacher in a statement.

"There has been recent speculation by the media that key players Simon Easterby, Regan King and Stephen Jones are unsettled at the Scarlets," it read.

"All three are fully committed to the Scarlets. In Simon's case until 2010 and Regan and Stephen are signed up until 2011."
