Webster: Back in the mix after nightmare season

Edinburgh lock Matt Mustchin has been called up by Scotland for their forthcoming two-Test tour of Argentina.

The 31-year-old, who made his 50th appearance for the Magners League club this season, qualifies for Scotland through the IRB's three-year residency requirement.

Meanwhile, centre or wing Simon Webster has also been brought into the squad after proving his fitness to the Scottish medical staff.

"Simon passed the test with flying colours and was pleased with the progress he's made," said national doctor James Robson.

Scotland coach Frank Hadden was also delighted to have the 33-times capped Edinburgh back on board for the summer.

"Simon has had a difficult season with injury but is now an experienced international and I'm delighted he is fit to travel," he said.

A final decision on the two remaining second-row positions will be made next week with Glasgow captain Alastair Kellock, veteran Scott Murray and Edinburgh's Craig Hamilton in the frame.
