Deans and McKenzie check their stocks
May 25 2008
Crusaders hooker Corey Flynn has been ruled out of their Super 14 showdown with the Waratahs due to a broken arm.
The experienced front-rower was forced from the field during his side's comfortable 33-22 semi-final victory over the Hurricanes in Christchurch.
And it has been confirmed that Flynn has undergone surgery on the injury, subsequently ruling him out of a possible All Black recall as well as Robbie Deans' club swansong.
However, the Crusaders' substitute hooker Ti'i Paulo is expected to be fit for Saturday's Christchurch final after being injured during the closing stages of the all-New Zealand semi.
Meanwhile, opposing boss Ewen McKenzie has revealed no fresh injury worries ahead of the eagerly-anticipated clash next week.
"It's going to be my last game in charge too so we've all got something there as it all comes to an end," he said, speaking to ABC.
"There's a bunch of people there on both sides that'll be their last game but I think that both teams will be out there playing for their teams.
"I don't really think it will be about the individuals."
