Packing down: White can feature at Twickenham

England and Leicester prop Julian White has been cleared to play in their Guinness Premiership Final against Wasps at Twickenham on Saturday.

The Rugby Football Union decided to suspend White for one week, but chose to enforce the ban from May 21 to 27, allowing him to play in the domestic showpiece.

White had been reported by an independent citing officer and charged with an alleged stamping offence during the Tigers' play-off victory over Gloucester at Kingsholm last weekend.

But the three-man RFU panel, chaired by Christopher Quinlan and assisted by Mike Curling and John Doubleday handed the player a seven-day ban, which he has already served.

Stamping usually carries a ban of between four to six weeks but Leicester acted swiftly to the incident, suspending White for seven days and fining him £5,000.
