Boland match moved to Newlands
September 26 2008
Western Province fans will be jumping for joy at the news that Saturday's crunch Currie Cup match between WP and the Boland Kavaliers has been moved to Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.
The decision was taken by the provinces because of the waterlogged state of the Boland Stadium field in Wellington it was announced on Friday.
The news is a massive boost for WP's hopes of making the semi-final as scoring a bonus point for five tries is crucial for the Cape side. Playing running rugby would have been a difficult task in the Wellington mud, but in front of their home fans and on a world class surface, the safe money will be on Province winning by a healthy margin.
(Tickets sold for the original fixture will be valid at Newlands as will Western Province season tickets.)
