Jimmy Gopperth: Staying in Harbour

Jimmy Gopperth's year-long loan to North Harbour has become permanent, after the Hurricanes fly-half signed on for another year up north.

Gopperth was jusdged surplus to requirements at Wellington for the Air New Zealand Cup campaign this season with the emergence of Willie Ripia in the Lions' fly-half role.

He has now made himself eligible for the Blues rather than the Hurricanes, where he and Lachie Munro will go head-to-head for the number ten jersey in next year's Super 14.

Harbour will not make the ANZ Cup play-offs this year after their defeat last week against Auckland, and Gopperth will also have to impress a new coach in Albany next year, with Wayne Pivac leaving at the end of the current campaign.
