Corry proud of Tigers' spirit
October 13 2008
Leicester captain Martin Corry has hailed his team's character following an opening Heineken Cup victory over the Ospreys - warning Europe there is plenty more to come from the Tigers this season.
Now-converted lock Corry celebrated turning 35-years-old on Sunday by leading Leicester to an impressive 12-6 win over their Welsh rivals at Welford Road.
And the former England skipper has openly praised his side's efforts despite several errors that possibly limited their performance ahead of their next fixture against Pool minnows Treviso.
"I think with our endeavour and the opportunities we created, the first half was probably the best it's been this season," he said, speaking to the club's official website.
"The way we played in the first half is what we aspire to with the endeavour - unfortunately the final passes didn't go to hand.
"People were looking at Ospreys coming here as favourites. We had to work very hard for the win.
"We know there's more to come from us. It's up to us to deliver it for the rest of the Pool."
