Caucau signs for Agen

Firecracker on legs: Rupeni Caucaunibuca

Headline-grabbing Fijian wing Rupeni Caucaunibuca has signed a deal with his former club Agen that will see him rock the ProD2 until the end of the season.

'Caucau' went AWOL last February and has been linked with a number of clubs ever since, most notably Leicester Tigers in the Guinness premiership.

The sensational wing returned to Agen - whom he first joined back in 2003 - last week for what was supposed to be a two-week trial. It took less than seven days for the bosses at the Lot-et-Garonnais club to be convinced that he was in good enough nick to sign a contract.

The 28-year-old inked the deal on Thursday after passing the obligatory medical tests and is now awaiting his licence. Should the paperwork be sorted out in time, he could make his return against Colomiers as early as Saturday since he participated in the captain's run on Friday

Club president Alain Tingaud said that while Caucaunibuca's contract was only until the end of the season, it contained a option to renew for the 2009-2010 campaign.
