Skrela and Elissalde out
December 01 2008
Toulouse fly-half David Skrela has been ruled out of action for a month with a thigh muscle tear, meaning he won't be in the French champions' line-up against the Dragons in the Heineken Cup this weekend.
The former Stade Français number ten joins Toulouse and France half-back partner Jean-Baptiste Elissalde on the side lines.
An MRI scan revealed that Skrela suffered a two centimetre tear in his left thigh muscle in training on Tuesday. Scrum-half Elissalde has a broken finger.
Toulouse will now have to 'settle' for a half-back combination of Byron Kelleher and Frédéric Michalak.
Elsewhere, Montpellier have suffered a blow to their European Challenge Cup assault with the news that Louis Picamoles will play no part in their next two fixtures due to a back injury.
The France international number eight has sustained a herniated invertebral disk, more commonly known as a slipped disc and will be out of action for at least one month.
Picamoles is set to miss the vital Pool 2 double-header with fellow Top 14 outfit Toulon with Montepllier already trailing leaders Northampton by six points.
