PNC gloss added by Junior ABs

Late crossing: Hosea Gear

The Junior All Blacks added extra gloss to their Pacific Nations Cup title on Thursday by recording a 47-25 victory over Tonga in Suva.

Ian Foster's outfit had already claimed the tournament trophy due to other results last Saturday, with their unbeaten record taking them out of reach of second-placed Samoa.

It was not plain sailing in their final fixture though, as they were made to fight back from a 20-12 half-time deficit by the highly-motivated Tongans.

But with twelve minutes remaining scrum-half Alby Mathewson, reserve back Robert Fruean and winger Hosea Gear crossed to confirm the victory.
