Encouraging signs for Munster
July 13 2009
Pre-season has started to move up another gear at Munster for a squad that has been boosted by some encouraging news on the injury front.
The Magners League champions, who have just finished their second week of preparation for the new campaign, will be encouraged to see Tomás O'Leary and Jerry Flannery recovering strongly on their respective comebacks.
Both players were British & Irish Lions casualties before the squad's departure - O'Leary due to an ankle break and Flannery suffering elbow ligament damage - but the former is now off his crutches while the hooker continues to progress in selective training.
In other injury news, Ciaran O'Boyle remains dogged by hamstring issues while Darragh Hurley and Duncan Williams are improving after surgery.
Meanwhile, recent Churchill Cup star Felix Jones links up with his new team-mates on Monday at the same time as forward contingent Denis Hurley, Denis Fogarty, Donnacha Ryan, Niall Ronan and Tony Buckley.
