Injury relief for Toulouse

August 06 2009

Good to go: Yannick Jauzion

Toulouse received a double boost on Thursday when it was revealed that Frédéric Michalak's injury is not as bad as initially feared and Yannick Jauzion is also ready for duty.

26-year-old Michalak pulled in training with a injury earlier this week but an MRI scan undertaken on Wednesday revealed no tear.

The French international will however be out of action for several days and will not take part in Toulouse's friendly at Biarritz on Saturday.

A decision on whether he will play in the season opener on August 15 at Montauban will be made in the coming days. His absence would be a blow for Toulouse, who are already without fly-half David Skrela (knee) and scrum-half Jean-Baptiste Elissalde (heel) as well as loose forwards Jean Bouilhou and Shaun Sowerby

There is more good news for the triple European champions as Jauzion has been named in the squad to face Biarritz. The international centre has been out of action since his return from holiday after undergoing surgery to his tonsils.
