WP lose De Waal to injury

Injury blow: Willem de Waal

Western Province's chances of inflicting the Griquas' first defeat of the Currie Cup season suffered a major setback with news that fly-half Willem de Waal has been ruled out with a neck injury.

WP Media Manager Gavin Lewis told confirmed to Planet Rugby on Friday that De Waal, who has been in top form for WP and the Emerging Springboks, will not be taking the field in Kimberley for Round Five clash.

Lewis added that more time was need to determine for how long De Waal would be sidelined for but there have been suggestion that it might be as long as two months.

As a resul Peter Grant moves from inside centre to fly-half with Morgan Newman taking over at number twelve. Paul Bosch joins the bench as cover.
