Hinton injury hits Leeds
August 07 2009
Leeds Carnegie have been dealt a blow after Leigh Hinton was ruled out of the start of the Guinness Premiership with a shoulder injury.
The full-back suffered the setback during a pre-season fixture against French side against Aurillac with Head Coach Neil Back forced to bring him off.
After undergoing subsequent scans, it was revealed that Hinton, who had scored a try in the match, had damaged the AC joint and now faces two months on the sidelines.
"We are disappointed for Leigh," said a disappointed Back.
"At this stage it would appear that he does not need an operation but the injury will be assessed by a specialist when we return to Leeds this weekend.
"Hopefully he will recover with a period of rehabilitation but in the meantime we will use Leigh's expertise to help the coaching and management team in our preparations for the new season."
