Mujati at Saints in time for kick-off

August 07 2009

New Saint: Brian Mujati

Northampton Saints on Friday announced that Brian Mujati is arriving at the club earlier than scheduled and will be available to begin the 2009/10 Guinness Premiership season.

Mujati, capped 12 times by South Africa, had originally been due to arrive at Franklin's Gardens at the end of this year's Currie Cup. But he has been released early by Western Province and is joining up with his new team mates as they prepare for the Saints' Guinness Premiership, Heineken Cup and Anglo-Welsh Cup campaigns.

The prop is travelling with the Saints squad next week for their training camp in France and will be available for selection for Thursday's friendly game against Begles-Bordeaux in Capbreton.

Meanwhile the club announced that Euan Murray is recovering well from an ankle ligament rupture and fracture sustained during the Lions' midweek match in June against Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth.

Euan is now five weeks into his rehab and is currently ahead of his six-month return to play.
