Tigers unsure on injured Jeanjean

Nicolas Jeanjean: The right man?

Leicester have admitted they could be searching for another back-three member if trialist Nicolas Jeanjean fails to recover from a groin problem.

The former Stade Francais full-back, who linked up with the Tigers over the past few weeks of pre-season, unfortunately missed their recent tour of France due to the injury.

And with Head Coach Richard Cockerill also without Alesana Tuilagi (broken foot) and Geordan Murphy (hernia recovery), the English champions are down to the bare bones as the Guinness Premiership fast approaches.

"We had Jeanjean on trial but he couldn't play in France because of a slight problem with his groin so we might have a look at him over the next few weeks," said Cockerill, speaking to the Leicester Mercury.

"If it is not him (we get), it will be somebody else.

"We are looking for somebody in the back three. Nicolas has got a good profile and has done some good things, but we have to make sure he is the right fit for us.

"We are a little bit short in that area but we need to make sure that, financially, we can do it.

"If there are good players available and we can afford to get them, we will bring them in.

"The strength of the squad needs to be as good as it possibly can be."
