Gloucester confirm exit of Titterrell

August 12 2009

Moving on: Andy Titterrell

Gloucester have confirmed that hooker Andy Titterrell has departed the club after enduring limited opportunties at Kingsholm.

The 2005 British & Irish Lions tourist stuggled to hold down a regular spot in the Cherry and Whites side since his move from Sale Sharks in 2007.

Titterrell also failed to add to his five England caps and follows centre Matthew J. Watkins out of the Gloucester door ahead of the new season.

"They're both great lads but I couldn't, in all honesty, make any promises to them in terms of chances in the first team," said coach Bryan Redpath, speaking to the Gloucester Citizen.

"Therefore, we told them both that they were free to explore other options and MJ has obviously sorted himself out first but we'd like to wish them both well for the future."
