Ally Hogg: 'A really good draw'

Edinburgh vice-captain Allister Hogg is confident of progression to the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup despite being drawn against tough opposition.

The Scottish outfit will face Bath, Stade Francais and Ulster in Pool Four of the tournament following Tueday's draw at the Stade de France.

Both Bath and Ulster are former winners of the competition while the Parisians, who have recently recruited ex-Edinburgh full-back Hugo Southwell, have lost in the final twice before.

However, Hogg is excited by the challenge ahead when the 2009/10 festivities begin later this year.

"I think it is a really good draw for Edinburgh," he said.

"We know it will be tough but we've got a good chance and everyone will be looking forward to the challenge.

"I've never played Stade before, so that should be interesting, especially with Simon Taylor and Shuggy [Hugo Southwell] there.

"We beat Bath in a warm-up match last season, although they will be very difficult to beat and we know Ulster really well from our meetings in the Magners League."
