Strettle needs rest, not surgery
October 07 2008
Harlequins have announced that wing David Strettle does not require surgery on his troublesome foot injury.
The England finisher had to come off the pitch in the 37th minute of last Thursday's Guinness Premiership away match against Worcester.
But after being examined by a specialist, it has been confirmed by the London club that the injury is a re-occurrence of the injury he picked up when playing for his country last season.
The advice which has been given is to rest, with no surgical intervention being required.
However, because it is a repeat of the previous injury, there will be further investigative work done to try and help prevent the likelihood of any further problem regarding this particular injury.
Strettle is expected to be out of action for the next 5-7 weeks.
