On good terms: Marcelo Loffreda

Marcelo Loffreda has revealed he is close to a settlement with the Tigers, twelve months after being sacked from his position at Welford Road.

The 50-year-old, who was only in charge at Leicester for seven months after leading Argentina to a third-place finish at the 2007 Rugby World Cup, felt 'considerably shocked' when informed of the board's decision last year.

But with negotiations between the two parties now drawing to close, Loffreda admits he and the club have remained on 'good terms' since his return to Argentina.

"I am trying to finish with the Leicester issue," he said, speaking to the Leicester Mercury.

"We are on good terms. They have behaved quite well in this part of the negotiations."
