Given the all-clear: Sam Tuitupou

New Zealander Sam Tuitupou looks set to return from a long-term injury when Worcester host Guinness Premiership rivals Leeds on Friday.

The powerful centre has not made a domestic appearance for the Warriors since injuring his knee last year.

A hamstring problem sidelined him for last Saturday's league opener at Northampton but he is now in full training and poised for a recall.

"Sam will be named in the team providing he comes through our training all week," said Worcester Rugby Director Mike Ruddock.

"He has been given the all-clear to drop back into rugby sessions.

"He has a busy week but, if he comes through okay with no adverse impact to his leg, then he will be passed fit to play."

However, prop Olivier Sourgens, a summer signing from French club Begles-Bordeaux, could require minor knee surgery after going off during the first half against the Saints.

"It looks like he has some damage around the knee," added Ruddock.

"That could mean surgical intervention but, with keyhole (surgery), we are looking at two or three weeks."
