Hazell banned, Payne cleared

The Rugby Football Union have banned Gloucester flanker Andy Hazell for one week after finding him guilty of stamping.
Gloucester man Hazell was cited for allegedly stamping on Bath's Julian Salvi during his team's Guinness Premiership victory at Kingsholm.
Referee Andrew Small sent Hazell to the sin-bin for the offence, but the matter was also referred to citing officer Peter Colston for consideration.
The RFU have now found the England international guilty of stamping and have handed out a one-week ban for the 31-year-old.
With the ban effective immediately, Hazell will miss out on Gloucester's Premiership clash with Northampton at the weekend.
The ban could have been longer, though and the Cherry-and-Whites will be relieved Hazell has not been suspended for even longer.
Meanwhile, London Wasps' Tim Payne was also summoned to appear before the RFU disciplinary panel after the prop received two yellow cards (for persistent infringement and collapsing a scrum) against Bath on Saturday.
The panel deemed Payne's dismal during the match as sufficient and he is free to play again immediately.
