Worcester give up on Hook
January 13 2010
The Worcester Warriors had to let go of their hopes of signing 24-year old Welsh international James Hook.
Speculation had it that a big offer was on the cards but Mike Ruddock laid the theory to rest.
"I met with James' agent a couple of months ago but I was told he was under contract until 2011," Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"Until he is out of contract there's not a chance of him coming here."
"It's unlikely that a current international would want to leave Wales, as the Welsh RFU has said if players go off and play in England they might not get in the Wales team.
"So it's a big decision for a player to consider if they are a current international and that is the story as far as I know it."
