Three-week blow for Sackey

January 18 2010

Another blow: Paul Sackey

Wasps have suffered a major blow with the news that winger Paul Sackey will be sidelined for three weeks due to a fractured cheekbone.

England international Sackey suffered the injury against Roma during Thursday's comfortable 50-16 Amlin Challenge Cup win at Adams Park.

The experienced 30-year-old was hoping to enjoy a clean bill of health since recovering from the broken leg he sustained back in March 2009.

But the news ends what was a bad week for Sackey, who last Wednesday missed out on Martin Johnson's Senior Elite Player Squad and had to settle for a spot in the Saxons line-up.
