Williams extends Gloucester stay
February 01 2010
Gloucester have signed Andy Williams on a short-term contract to cover the scrum-half position to the end of the season.
The experienced campaigner who played for Bath, the Dragons and the Ospreys in previous years was asked to join after Rory Lawson got injured in December. He will now stay on to help the club as the Guinness Premiership moves into the red hot zone.
"Rory Lawson is currently with Scotland and Jordi Pasqualin will be with the England U20s squad during their Six Nations campaign so we were looking a bit thin at the position," said Head Coach Bryan Redpath, speaking to the club's official website.
"Andy's an experienced campaigner. He's an international who has also played a significant amount of Heineken Cup rugby so he knows all about performing at the highest level."
"He will be with us initially until the end of the season and we'll see where things go from there."
