Jono Gibbes returns to the Chiefs bench

The Chiefs have announced a squad containing three changes for their must-win Super 14 clash with the Lions at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Injuries have forced two of the changes to the team that lost by a single point to the Force last weekend.

In the backs Callum Bruce and Dwayne Sweeney will combine in mid-field, with Richard Kahui not considered due to his ankle injury sustained last week.

Up front Ben Castle comes in for the injured Simms Davison at prop.

On the reserves bench, veteran Chief Jono Gibbes will cover the lock position. He has recovered from a severe hamstring strain suffered ten rounds ago when the Chiefs played the Hurricanes.

"It has been a good training week for our squad," coach Ian Foster told the Chiefs website.

"We have just moved to Johannesburg and the guys are excited about the challenge the Lions present.

"They are a team that we are expecting to be physical and they will be motivated to play well at home after their offshore stint.

"It is fair to say their team is further strengthened with the return of Springboks back Jaque Fourie this week," added Foster.
