Inspiration: Tuqiri has been a major influence in Nasiganiyavi development

The Waratahs have signed exciting Randwick winger Ratu Nasiganiyavi on a two-year deal.

The powerful wing has set the Tooheys New Shute Shield alight in 2008, scoring 13 tries in devastating fashion.

Appearing in the Australian Rugby Championship for Perth Spirit in 2007, the teenager has been on fire this year and will fly to Wales on Monday with the Australian U20 side.

"Six months ago I never would have considered it, but anything can happen and it's hard to believe I've already put pen to paper," said Nasiganiyavi.

"I'm really looking forward to the U20s and when I get back we've got a big season remaining with Randwick."

Ratu is the son of former Fijian international Isei Nasiganiyavi, and the cousin of Waratahs winger Lote Tuqiri who played a big part in Waratahs obtaining the youngster's signature.

"He's had a major influence on my game for the last couple of years, giving me encouragement, calling me up and wishing me luck and he's given me a lot of confidence," said Nasiganiyavi.

"Lote's still got a few years at the Waratahs and I'll be there with him too so if I get the opportunity to play alongside him that'll be awesome."
