Extended stay: Charlie Fetoai has agreed to carry on with the Reds

Queensland Reds have signed yet another Rugby League player, this time in the form of Rod Davies who joins from Brisbane Broncos on a two-year deal.

Berrick Barnes joined the Reds from League and now the 19-year-old former Australian Schools player has followed suit.

Having spent two years with the Broncos Davies now switches back to Union and will compete to secure the full-back shirt on a regular basis.

Davies said he enjoyed his time in Union before, especially the Australian National Talent Squad (NTS), and is looking forward to linking up with the Reds.

"They (the NTS) really looked after me and I always knew I'd find myself back in union," Davies told Fox Sports

Davies' signing came on the same day that Charlie Fetoai and full-back aspirant Brando Va'aulu both extended their contracts with the Queensland Rugby Union.

England-bound Chris Latham has tipped regular winger Va'aulu to replace him at full-back next season, while in-form Wallabies winger Peter Hynes is seen as the front-runner for the position.

"It's exciting because there's good competition for that spot with Brando, Hynesy and Rod Davies," said Reds Performance Manager Ben Whitaker.

"Time will tell with Brando. He's a talented kid and we'll trial him there with the others and he knows he has to improve his kicking, which he's working hard to do."
