Thomson stays loyal to Otago
October 01 2008
Loose forward Adam Thomson has signed with the Otago Rugby Football Union until the end of the 2010 season.
Thomson, 26, debuted for Otago in 2004 against Waikato and has since played 33 games for Otago and 14 games for the Highlanders.
He debuted for the All Blacks this year against Ireland and has played seven tests and was also a member of the New Zealand Sevens team in 2007.
Otago coach Steve Martin said he was pleased Thomson had re-signed with Otago.
"Adam is a dynamic loose forward who can create attacking opportunities for himself and other players," said Martin.
"He is capable of playing all three loose forward positions and he has shown this at the highest level. It is great to have him on board for another two years."
Thomson's re-signing comes days after wing Fetu'u Vainikolo and lock Tom Donnelly signed with Otago through until the end of the 2010 season.
