Habana wants a repeat of 2007

On the hunt: Bryan Habana

Star winger Bryan Habana has vowed to do all he can to bring the Bulls their second Super 14 title when they meet the Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Habana was the hero for the Bulls when they won the final against the Sharks in 2007. In a solo effort he scored the match-winning try in the dying seconds of the game to deny the home side their first Super Rugby title.

He is one of twelve survivors for the team that beat the Sharks that year, as the crop of 2009 looks to etch their names into the history books.

Habana scored in last weekend's semi-final against the Crusaders and would love to get his name on the scoresheet once again in the Final this weekend.

"Personally, as a rugby player you work towards making a contribution to something special," Habana told Yahoo!extra.

"When we started pre-season in George we had the goal of finishing first so that we could give ourselves a chance of doing something special.

"If I can play a role in that then that would be great for the team. I don't know if we want to leave it as late as we did in Durban though."

However, Habana won't be lining up against Chiefs flyer Sitiveni Sivivatu who is out with a dislocated shoulder, which is a major loss for the Chiefs.

"You want to test yourself against the best in the world, but we aren't complaining that he's out," Habana joked.

"He's a fantastic player and was exceptional when he was gracing the field.

"It's unfortunate that he's not playing, but that's one less problem we have to worry about."
