Care for the club: Danny Care has signed a three year extention with Harlequins

DANNY CARE has signed a three year contract extension with Harlequins that will keep him with the current Aviva Premiership champions until the end of the 2015-16 season.

The 25-year-old England scrum half has made 116 appearances for Harlequins since he joined from Leeds Carnegie in 2006 scoring 157 points, including 28 tries. He was a key member of the team that won the Aviva Premiership final in May.

Danny played for England Sevens in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and captained the England Under 20 team that same year.  He was awarded his first full international cap in 2008 and since then, he has made 33 appearances for England including a “man of the match” performance in the third test with South Africa in June.

Commenting on his contract extension, Danny Care said, “There is no other club that I want to play for so I’m pleased to extend my contract with Harlequins. I’m enjoying being part of a talented squad that is playing an attractive and successful style of rugby.  Winning trophies is why we play professional rugby and having tasted some success in that regard, I would like more. I believe that the best is yet to come from our players which is why I’m looking forward to another three seasons with the club.”

“For Danny to commit to us for this length of time is news that everyone at the club is delighted about,” said Conor O’Shea, Harlequins Director of Rugby, when he announced the contract extension today (21stAugust).  “I am looking forward to watching Danny’s continuing development both on and off the pitch over coming seasons and to seeing him become the player that we all know he can be.”
