Henry Pyrgos replaces Greig Laidlaw at scrum-half for Scotland's game against the USA - one of ten changes from Vern Cotter

Glasgow Warriors scrum-half Henry Pyrgos will captain Scotland against the USA having replaced Greig Laidlaw in the No 9 shirt from the win over Japan on Wednesday.

Laidlaw scored 20 of Scotland’s 45 points at his home ground of Kingsholm in their opening game, but with just four days rest before their clash with the USA, coach Vern Cotter has rung the changes.

Tim Visser and Sean Maitland replace Tommy Seymour and Sean Lamont on the wings, and with Lamont not on the bench the Warriors’ man will not be able to add to his 98 caps this time out.

Cotter changes his entire front row, with Wednesday’s replacements – Ryan Grant, Fraser Brown and Jon Welsh – given the start, while powerhouse Richie Gray replaces his brother Jonny in the second row.
