When did you first play?

At primary school – they needed a few extra girls to play in tag tournaments. Then I got involved in my local club, Old Coventrians.

Did you play other sports?

Hockey, and I played netball for Warwickshire.

Childhood rugby heroes?

Maggie Alphonsi. Her ferociousness and force in the tackle is amazing.

How long have you been at Saracens?

I’m in my third year and play wing or scrum-half. Maggie was my old coach, so it’s great to play with her.

Did you grow up with a lot of rugby-playing girls?

No! I played a lot with older girls. I’m one of the smaller ones now and it taught me to get round that size issue.

What’s your day job?

I’m a sports massage therapist and a part-time receptionist in a gym. I train around my work.

What are your goals?

I was capped by England at 15s last summer. I want to be involved in sevens as much as possible this year and build up my experience.

RW verdict: Riley has the opportunity to impress on the sevens stage while others focus on this year’s World Cup.
