The final two 100% records in the division go on the line this weekend as league leaders Loughborough Students play host to Leicester Lions. Saturday’s

opponents each boast seven wins from seven outings, although both were made to work hard for their latest victory. The Students trailed for an hour of the

match at Harrogate until their superior fitness saw them overhaul the Yorkshire side to run out 34-17 winners. Craig Holland and Charlie Matthews both

touched down twice. Leicester Lions recorded an 11-5 win over Westoe, and in doing so ended the South Shields club’s very own 100% record. Jon Boden

was the star of the show with a well- taken try and two penalties.

Plenty of points were on offer elsewhere in the division, with Kendal putting 74 on Manchester and an aggregate of 89 points scored between Nuneaton and

Fylde. Fylde came away from Liberty Way with a 53-36 win, Warrington Wolves Rugby league academy product Matt Lomax and fly- half Richard Kenyon

both getting a couple of tries a piece.

Cameron Hewitt scored a hat- trick for Luctonians but still ended up on the losing side as Caldy left Herefordshire with a 32-28 win. Morley eased the

pressure on themselves in the lower reaches of the table with a 35-7 success at fellow strugglers Rugby Lions. They are on the road again this Saturday with

an away fixture at Hull Ionians, who narrowly came off second best to Preston. In the weekend’s other fixture, Hull defeated Huddersfield 34-0.
