Jerry Collins, the Ospreys back-row forward appeared today before an independent Celtic Rugby disciplinary hearing convened in Edinburgh following his citing for a dangerous tackle in the Magners League fixture against Munster in Swansea on 23 April 2011.

The committee, chaired by John Kirk (Scotland) alongside Marco Cordelli (Italy) and Paul Minto (Scotland) upheld the citing but, on a majority decision, concluded that the tackle, although dangerous and reckless, did not warrant a red card. The player, having collected his third yellow card of the Magners League campaign for the incident, is automatically suspended from tomorrow’s match against Aironi, but is free to play thereafter.
