Gavin Henson has stepped out of line at his new club, Toulon, and has been suspended for one week.

The club – bizarrely – have refused to say why Henson was suspended leaving the world to speculate on why the Wales international will cool his heels for seven days.

All they would say was he  had been suspended for not respecting “the code of good behavior defined by the club”, leaving the internet to speculate it was for a fight with a team-mate. The club do him and the rest of the players a dis-service by revealing only half the story. Was it Henson’s fault?

Henson has been playing well in France since his arrival from Saracens, a departure which came as the Londoners refused to play him in his preferred position of inside centre.

Wales back coach Rob Howley recently speculated that Henson would be called into Wales’ provisional World Cup squad and would be given a chance in their warm-up games in August.
