The All Blacks show their humourous side at Auckland airport in an ad reminiscent of the Brazil World Cup classic
A number of All Black stars have recently been showing what they can do with a rectangle shaped object that couldn’t be more unlike a rugby ball. In a video to promote the international tests against England seven All Blacks feature in a video on behalf of sponsors AIG Direct Travel Insurance.
The ‘Take on the World’ video shows the players looping passes, kicking, tackling and catching in the line out, in scenes shot at Auckland Airport. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s an impressive display of ‘envelope-handling’, skills, much enjoyed by on-looking travellers. The seven All Blacks, all of whom are in the midst of a thrilling three-Test series are backs, Ma’a Nonu, Israel Dagg and Ryan Crotty and forwards, Luke Romano, Jeremy Thrush, Kieran Read and Dane Coles.
England Coach Stuart Lancaster has a big squad to pick from for all three tests, as well as a tough mid-week match against the mighty Super Rugby side, Crusaders.
The fast-approaching second test is on June 14 in Dunedin in the South Island before England return north for the third and final test in Hamilton on June 21. At stake is the Hillary Shield, which New Zealand have won four times to England’s single previous triumph. On their home turf, the All Blacks start as Series favourites but Lancaster’s charges will surely run them close. Both international squads see this is another important step in the build up to next year’s World Cup, back in England.
