TO MARK the opening of the Rugby World Cup ticket general sale, 1,008 people gathered on the Twickenham turf to take part in rugby’s largest ever scrum, and set a new Guinness World Record in the process. Among the crowd who beat the previous record of 946 were Wales coach Warren Gatland, England Rugby 2015 ambassadors Maggie Alphonsi, Will Greenwood and Lawrence Dallaglio, and World Cup winner Piri Weepu. The scrum was officiated by referee Wayne Barnes.
