SWALEC Splash

Taking a punt: a Welsh fan – complete with leek hat! – has a go at the SWALEC Splash before last week's Italy game

GRAND SLAM fever is already gripping Wales and the atmosphere in Cardiff on Saturday is sure to be buzzing ahead of their final RBS 6 Nations game against France.

The target

Great aim: a ball heads to the target

While the likes of George North and Toby Faletau will be focussing their minds on the task that awaits them at the Millennium Stadium in the build-up to kick-off, fans in the Welsh capital can get involved in a challenge of their own.

The SWALEC Splash gives members of the public the chance to take a kick at the Millennium Stadium and punt a rugby ball into a floating target in the River Taff next to the ground.

So if you fancy showing off your kicking skills and seeing if you’re as accurate at Wales full-back Leigh Halfpenny when it comes to hitting the target, head to the walkway close to gate 6/7 at the Millennium Stadium from 11am on Saturday and give it a go.

It’s the perfect way to warm up for the Grand Slam decider – and there are prizes up for grabs, too, with replica balls and even International match tickets on offer for lucky winners.
