What’s Hot and What’s Not From May!
From Rugby World reader, Larissa Falls

Got any to add?

Hot:

Finals… Gosh we love them!!!

Front Row Headlines… Not often we see front rowers being heralded as their teams’ game breaker and getting as many column inches as the backline boys (so thanks Brits and Tonga’uiha).

Traditional Tours… Finally giving the supporters what the supporters want!

Promoted Teams… Congratulations to Exeter, Agen and La Rochelle on gaining promotion into the Guinness Premiership and Top 14 respectively.

French Clubs… Two teams in the Heineken Cup final, one team in the Amlin Challenge Cup final and winners of the Heineken Cup!

Rewriting the Record Books… Saracens first ever win at Welford Road, Clermont’s first Top 14 title and Exeter’s first time in the Guinness Premiership. Cardiff Blues becoming the only Welsh side to win a European competition and the Ospreys becoming the only Magners League team to notch three domestic titles.

Not:

England Selection…Does Johnno realise there’s a team called Saracens who boast the likes of Goode, Saull and Barritt?

Video Refs… Can we please start using them for uncertain goal kicks?

RFU…From player payment disputes to ‘Biscuitgate.’

Game Clashes… We had the Heineken Cup final and Super 14 semi finals being played at the same time. And then we had the Super 14, Guinness Premiership, Magners League and Top 14 finals overlapping. Communication between countries and hemispheres wouldn’t go amiss!
