Anthony Perenise (L) to join Bath squad

Bath Rugby are very pleased to announce the signing of tight-head prop, Anthony Perenise on a three year contract. The seven times capped Samoan Perenise will join up with the Bath squad following the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Currently playing for the Hurricanes Super 15 franchise, the powerful scrummager will add more strength and power to the existing front row for the forthcoming seasons.

On signing the deal, Anthony said “I am very excited to be joining such a prestigious club as Bath. It has always been an ambition of mine to play Northern Hemisphere rugby, and Bath are a club really going places, and I want to be part of that.”

Director of Rugby, Sir Ian McGeechan, added “Anthony is an experienced international prop, who is not only a very powerful and technically accurate scrummager, but he is also incredibly mobile around the pitch, which will make him a very big threat for opposing teams. He is a good character, who will fit in well within the rest of the squad, and we look forward to welcoming him here at Bath.”
