Beats by Dr Dre headphones have seemingly become the headphone of choice among athletes in various sporting disciplines, with rugby no exception.

The company launches its Rugby World Cup advertising campaign, titled ‘The Game Starts Here’, tonight with a series of videos featuring the likes of Richie McCaw, Chris Robshaw and Wesley Fofana.

The advertising is subtle, with the three-film series exploring the pre-game preparations, rituals and challenges faced by some of the world’s best players.

McCaw faces the prospect of trying to lead New Zealand to a second successive World Cup title, with his film featuring his interactions with the press regarding potential retirement while at the same time preparing to do his country proud.

Robshaw’s film, meanwhile, highlights what it means to be British and the pressures that come with being the England captain.

While we are used to seeing these players’ media personas, we often don’t get to see the training and preparation that they put into making themselves the best players they can be.

The athletes in the films can be seen wearing Beats’ range of bluetooth headphones – Studio Wireless, Solo2Wireless and Powerbeats2 Wireless – and the campaign goes live during Friday’s World Cup opener between England and Fiji.
