All the latest news on injured players across all the countries

Six Nations injuries are always a talking point in the tournament, which is delivering plenty of on-field entertainment. While we debate whether Ireland can win the tournament back-to-back, team selection and who is in red-hot form, there is the perpetual issue of injuries.

Every season players drop out, so here is a rolling update of the major Six Nations injuries for each team.

England

Alex Mitchell has been ruled out of England’s game against Scotland with a knee injury. The scrum-half had started England’s first two matches this tournament. Danny Care or Ben Spencer are now in line to take his spot in the starting team with Harry Randall entering the 36-man squad as cover.

The other main injury in the current squad is fly-half Marcus Smith. He sustained the calf problem before the first round and so is yet to make an appearance in this year’s tournament. England’s other major injury worries were Ollie Lawrence, Manu Tuilagi and Luke Cowan-Dickie but all three have re-joined the squad.

Players who were ruled out before the tournament included flanker Tom Curry, scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet and prop Bevan Rodd.
